Five area high school standouts named All-Americans

Three of the five players play club soccer for HMMS Eagle FC

Five area high school standouts were named United Soccer Coaches All-Americans on Wednesday.

Samuel Hershey from J.P. McCaskey High School in Lancastre, Aidan McDade from Appoquinimink High School in Middletown, Del. and Connor Swope from Northern York High School in Dillsburg were named to the boys team. Julia Raich from Camp Hill High School in Camp Hill and Riley Tiernan from Eastern Regional High School in Voorhees, N.J. were named to the girls team.

All five recently completed their senior seasons. Three of the five All-Americans play club soccer for the Mechanicsburg-based HMMS Eagle FC.

Tiernan, who plays club for Players Development Academy is heading to Rutgers next fall and Raich, who plays for HMMS Eagle FC, is committed to Penn State. Hershey and Swope are teammates with HMMS Eagles FC and McDade plays for Sporting Delaware.
