Report: Przybylko, Wagner get green cards

Philadelphia Union duo will no longer count as international players

Kacper Przybylko and Kai Wagner will no longer count as international players on the Philadelphia Union roster, according to a report from Kristian Dyer.

Dyer first reported the news — confirmed by a club spokesperson — Friday on MLS Multiplex.

The report follows comments earlier this week from Sporting Director Ernst Tanner that there were green cards incoming.

“We could potentially do something as we have still some budget,” Tanner said. “But, like always, it needs to be the right thing.”

Przybylko and Wagner’s green cards means the Union now have eight international players and nine spots. Matej Oravec has been “on loan” with Union 2 to clear his international spot. The ninth spot was acquired from Sporting Kansas City for the 2021 season in exchange for $200,000 in general allocation money back in April.
