He has signed a contract through the 2024 season. Interim manager Rob Valentino will continue to manage the team for the next two games. Pineda is scheduled to conduct his first training session next Thursday.

D.C. United adds striker Ramón Ábila, sends Erik Sorga on loan to VVV Venlo
Ábila was a big move for Minnesota this offseason, having scored nearly one goal every two games for Boca Juniors in league play, but things didn’t go according to plan. While the plan was for Ábila to replace Kei Kamara and Luis Amarilla as Adrian Heath’s starter, he ended up making 10 appearances and just one start in his half-season as a member with the Loons.

Last year it was Brenden Aaronson. This year, it appears that Red Bull Salzburg has targeted DC United midfielder Kevin Paredes as the next rising American star they will pluck from MLS.
