Philadelphia Union Academy grad Kalil ElMedkhar is returning to the East Coast to sign with USL Championship side Loudoun United.

The Middletown, Del. native signed with the DC United affilliate after his option with FC Dallas was declined. The Philadelphia Union traded ElMedkhar’s homegrown rights to FC Dallas for $50,000 in general allocation money in 2021. The University of Kentucky and Reading United standout logged 218 minutes in 11 appearances over two seasons with FC Dallas.

“Kalil [ElMedkhar] is a very gifted attacking wide player,” Ryan Martin, Loudoun United FC Head Coach, stated in a news release. “He has great ability to go 1 v 1 or run in behind the backline. He has had experience in MLS matches and we’re excited for him to show his quality by creating goals and assists this upcoming USL season.”

Prior to joining the Union Academy in 2013, ElMedkhar played for Penn Fusion Academy and Kirkwood Soccer in his native Delaware.
