Jakob Glesnes has been a vital player for the Philadelphia Union, using his defensive prowess to anchor the team and keep opposing teams at bay. His impressive performances have not gone unnoticed, as he was recently included in the Team of the Matchday presented by Audi for Matchday 6.

Glesnes, who was named the 2022 MLS Defender of the Year, was named to the team of the matchday for the first time this season. It is also the team’s first time having a starter since week 1, when Daniel Gazdag and Julian Carranza were named to the honorary roster. Additionally, Torres (week 3) and Uhre (week 4) have also been included in the team of the matchday honors, albeit as part of the bench.

Despite the high expectations set for the Union at the start of the season, the team has only won two of their six matches and currently sits in 8th place in the Eastern Conference Standings. However, fans can catch the Union on Tuesday night as they take on Atlas in the Concacaf Champions League Quarter-final. Kickoff for the match is at 8 p.m.
