HALF

45+1′- We will see just one minute of stoppage time here in the first half.

42′- Wagner sets up for a corner kick from the far flag. His service is sent towards the post and the ball is sent out for a second corner. This one is also defended and it falls to the foot of Martinez who shoots the long distance shot. That shot goes over the crossbar, but it was closer than it normally is.

33′- Uhre gets behind the defense and is unmarked and puts the ball into the back of the net. But the AR raises his flag up for offsides. Still, VAR is taking a look at it and after a while, it is ruled offside. The game is still 0-0.

22′- Another deep running counter-attack, this time it’s Uhre who is the attacker that gets a nice run and slips behind Charlotte’s defense. He is met at the top right of the penalty box by two defenders and his shot gets blocked before it even gets close to the goalie.

20′- Carranza gets behind the defenders and starts running toward the goal. However, one of Charlotte’s defenders turns on the jets to put himself between the ball and Carranza as they entered the box and the play ends with Carranza committing the foul. The attacker tried to push off the defender, who ended up going down.

12′- An early yellow card is shown to Charlotte’s Westwood for what some would say was a little bit of time-wasting and not allowing the Union to get the game restarted.

8′- The corner is from the near flag. The out-swinging ball is cleared out and out of danger for the Union.

7′- Free kick for Charlotte from the right side of the penalty area and the cross is cleared out by Mbaizo for a corner.

1′- Soccer is now underway in Chester. The boys are in the dark blues and have three in the back as they defend the river end. 30 seconds into the game and the player of Saturday’s matchday, Carranza, gets the ball near the penalty spot and his shot hits right off the woodwork.
