Stefan Stojanovic and Brooks Thompson will not be returning to Philadelphia Union II in 2024.

Both players were among those out of contract at the end of the 2023 season but the December 15 roster decision release noted that both were “in on-going conversations” to return.

Stojanovic and Thompson join Boubacar Diallo and Nathan Nkanji (out of contract) and Juan Castillo and Hugo Le Guennec (options declined) departing the team. Castillo and Le Guennec were both additions to the team in 2023 while Diallo, Stojanovic, Nkanji and Thompson all joined in 2022.

The Union used a 2022 MLS SuperDraft pick to draft Stojanovic’s MLS rights after signing him to an MLS Next Pro contract out of Georgetown in 2022. Thompson was sent out on loan to North Carolina FC for the remainder of the season in late July. Though still just 21, Thompson is seeking his third club after starting his professional career with Sporting Kansas City II.
