Union’s ‘XV’ Unveiled: Mixed reactions flood social media
The Philadelphia Union recently rolled out their latest ‘XV’ kit as a Valentine’s Day present to fans, rekindling memories with a nod to their inaugural look by reintroducing the center stripe. Matt Ralph from Philadelphia Soccer Now delved into the significance of the center stripe in his Wednesday article, offering readers a chance to purchase the jersey for themselves. However, reactions to the new kit have been mixed, with some fans expressing their reservations.

I love this kit! I was hoping we’d keep a blue stripe because that was my favorite jersey of all time and you’ve done an amazing job! My original interpretation for the middle stripe was either a lightning bolt or snakeskin but the Commodore Barry is so clever! Great job!

Despite the overall positive reception, some fans, like @pefreak520, pointed out concerns with the crest’s placement, sparking further discussion among the community.
I like these a lot but I prefer the badge on the left chest area instead. Great jerseys though.

@ryanpropz New Union kit. Club badge in the center is disgusting. Massive Union guys though.

Yet, in a piece by Luke McClung for Philadelphia Soccer Now, the crest placement is defended as a “logical design choice”. Luke also talks about where the ‘XV’ kit and its ‘For Philly’ jersey pair ranks among MLS.
The unveiling has certainly stirred a variety of opinions among Union fans. What’s your take on the new ‘XV’ kit? Is it a must-have in your collection?
