The Philadelphia Union recently rolled out their latest ‘XV’ kit as a Valentine’s Day present to fans, rekindling memories with a nod to their inaugural look by reintroducing the center stripe. Matt Ralph from Philadelphia Soccer Now delved into the significance of the center stripe in his Wednesday article, offering readers a chance to purchase the jersey for themselves. However, reactions to the new kit have been mixed, with some fans expressing their reservations.

Criticism and praise alike have flooded in through social media. While @scottchurchson shared his lack of enthusiasm for this year’s design, others have shown their approval through various tweets, celebrating the Union’s new look.

Despite the overall positive reception, some fans, like @pefreak520, pointed out concerns with the crest’s placement, sparking further discussion among the community.

Yet, in a piece by Luke McClung for Philadelphia Soccer Now, the crest placement is defended as a “logical design choice”. Luke also talks about where the ‘XV’ kit and its ‘For Philly’ jersey pair ranks among MLS.

The unveiling has certainly stirred a variety of opinions among Union fans. What’s your take on the new ‘XV’ kit? Is it a must-have in your collection?
