Nine area teams participating in U.S. Open Cup local qualifying

Nine teams from our area will try to qualify for the 2025 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup through local qualifying, which kicks off in early October.

A record-high 114 amateur teams will compete in the qualifying rounds this fall. They enter the 110th edition of U.S. Soccer’s historic club vying for 14 spots.

Vereinigung Erzgebirge is back after qualifying in 2023 and hosting professional side Charlotte Independence this past March. West Chester United is also back in local qualifying after earning a berth to the Open Cup via their semifinal appearance in NPSL in 2023.

Other local sides include EPSL Delaware River Conference teams Alloy Soccer Club , Kensington Soccer Club, Oaklyn United FC and Vidas United FC and USLPA teams Colonial SC, Philadelphia Ukrainian Nationals and United German Hungarians.

The 114 teams will be grouped into 14 regional pools from which the qualifying round draw will be conducted. The 2025 qualifying rounds will be played across four weekend match windows as follows.

  • Match Window 1: Saturday, Oct. 5 & Sunday, Oct. 6
  • Match Window 2: Saturday, Oct. 26 & Sunday, Oct. 27
  • Match Window 3: Saturday, Nov. 16 & Sunday, Nov. 17
  • Match Window 4: Saturday, Dec. 7 & Sunday, Dec. 8
