WC Predators win inaugural EPSL match with 1-0 victory over Alloy SC
Ridge Robinson scored in the first half and West Chester United’s defense did something no one in the EPSL Delaware River Conference was able to do all last season – shut out Alloy SC – in the club’s first match in the regional league.
Saturday night’s match at Lancaster Bible College was delayed at the start because of a late arrival by West Chester but the experienced squad led by Robinson was able to find an early goal and keep the high-powered Alloy attack in check on their home turf.
The match was streamed by Game in Frame.
Alloy was coming off a thrilling 4-3 win at Philadelphia Heritage in week one. WC Predators have a quick turn around for their second game as they welcome Kensington SC to YSC Sports on Tuesday night.
Kensington dropped their season opener on the road at Rowan University Sunday night to Oaklyn United, which kept pace with Philadelphia SC with a 2-0 start. AC Trilogy also won their inaugural match in the league with a 4-0 win over Salone FC.
West Chester United’s USLPA team was also in action on Sunday afternoon, but dropped a 3-0 match at Vereinigung Erzgebirge. VE is off to a 2-0 start in league play and have not conceded a goal. They beat Phoenix 4-0 at their annual Oktoberfest event last weekend.
