Kelsey Beatie scored early in the first half and late in the second to lift Appoquinimink to a 2-0 win over Caravel Academy in a battle of unbeatens Monday night in Delaware girls high school soccer.

Beatie, a junior coming off a hat trick in a 5-1 win over cross town rivals Middletown, scored the opener with a well placed header off a corner kick from Katie Donovan to get a senior night crowd pumped up just six minutes into the contest. Beatie scored her second in the closing minute of the game, weaving her way through a couple Caravel defenders before beating the keeper.

Appoquinimink, runners up in the Division 1 final last year, improved to 11-0 on the season, picked up their eighth shutout and has now outscored opponents 59-3.

Caravel, Division II state champions last year, fell to 9-1 on the season and conceded more than one goal to an opponent for the first time this season.
