Lower Merion SC advance to National Presidents Cup final, five other local teams to semis

Lower Merion 007s are one win away from a national title after advancing to the U-19 final of the National Presidents Cup in Tampa with a 2-2 draw with Tennessee team PSA Pedro Jrs on Sunday.

The Lower Merion squad will face Arizona team Havasu Lions Academy in the final on Monday morning at 10:45 a.m. US Youth Soccer is streaming the finals for free on their YouTube channel. The two teams advanced to the final as the top two teams in the group stages. Lower Merion beat Havasu 4-1 in their first game in Tampa but drew their other two group matches 1-1 with LUFC and PSA Pedro Jrs. Havasu beat both LUFC and PSA Pedro Jrs to finish first in the group stages.

Five other area teams will look to advance to the finals of the US Youth Soccer competition in semifinals kicking off on Monday.

Keystone FC 2009 girls, VE Mountaineers 2007 boys, Real Futbol Academy 2013 girls, Carlisle Cannons 2007/2008 girls and HVAA Stingers 2010 boys all are one win away from a national final.
