Four players with local ties called up to USMNT
Three former Philadelphia Union players and a fourth player from the area have been called up to the U.S. Men’s National Team ahead of friendlies with Ecuador and Australia.
Matt Freese (Wayne, Pa.), Mark McKenzie (Bear, Del.), Brenden Aaronson (Medford, N.J.) and Christian Pulisic (Hershey, Pa.) are among the 26 players on head coach Mauricio Pochettino’s roster. Former Union midfielder Jack McGlynn recently picked up a season-ending injury and was not selected for the squad.
The USA will first host Ecuador on Oct. 10 at Q2 Stadium in Austin, Texas. Kickoff from the home of Austin FC is set for 8:30 p.m. ET (7:30 p.m. local) and will be broadcast on TNT, truTV, HBO Max, Universo, and Peacock.
Four days later, USA-Australia will mark the USMNT’s return to Commerce City, Colorado, for the first time since 2017. Kickoff is at 9 p.m. ET (7 p.m. local) and the game will be broadcast live on TNT, HBO Max, Universo, and Peacock.
