Union II scores comeback win over CT United in Connecticut

Stas Korzienowski scored his third goal in two matches to lead Philadelphia Union II to a come-from-behind road win over CT United FC on Sunday afternoon at Morrone Stadium in Storrs, Conn.

Korzienowksi’s goal in the 62nd minute off of midfielder Mamoutou Berthé’s first assist in MLS Next Pro secured the three points and gave the visitors revenge over a CT United team that handed Union II their first loss of the season at Subaru Park back on March 15.

After Cauã Paixão put the hosts in front in the 19th minute, Union II forward Eddy Davis III found an equalizer with his first goal of the season in the 37th minute. Korzienowski was credited with the assist on the strike. The goal was the 19th career goal for Davis in 59 MLS Next Pro appearances.

Union II improved to 4-2-1 on the season and moved up to third place in the Eastern Conference on 14 points, 7 behind conference leaders Crown Legacy and three behind second place Red Bulls II.

Union II hosts Red Bulls II next Sunday at 3 p.m. at Subaru Park.
