The New England Revolution are class

Je-Vaughn Watson and Jose Goncalves earned our respect by being good human beings.

It's often all too easy to think of players as anything but human beings. They're all too often commodities to be valued – stats and numbers and salaries in the right color shirts or the wrong color shirts. But underneath all of that, they're flesh and blood human beings with empathy and feeling.

The main image of this article is of two New England Revolution players giving up their warmup jackets to two player escorts who came out with them. Jose Goncalves and Je-Vaughn Watson would have made these kids’ day just by standing there and humming along while the national anthem was being sung, but they noticed the kids were cold and shivering and gave up their jackets for them.

While New England went home on the receiving end of a 3-0 loss to the Philadelphia Union, they gained our respect.
