This past week saw some great performances from Philadelphia Union players, so it should be no surprise that those players were named in MLS superlatives.

MLS Team of the Week – Keegan Rosenberry – Keegan had a great week, first scoring a goal and garnering WhoScored.com’s Man of the Match against Columbus Crew SC on Wednesday before drawing a red card against Sporting Kansas City’s Jimmy Medranda in the Union’s 2-0 win.

MLS Team of the Week bench – Roland Alberg – Alberg was named to the Team of the Week bench for his performance off of the bench in both the Columbus (an assist) and SKC (a goal and an assist) matches.

MLS Goal of the Week nomination – Keegan Rosenberry – Getting the game winner is pretty amazing, especially when you’re a right back who isn’t expected to score.

When it’s immediately after the other team equalized on their home turf and a gorgeous goal like that, you can celebrate pretty much any way that you want. Shhh, Crew fans. Shhh.

MLS Goal of the Week nomination – Roland Alberg – Not to be outdone by his rookie teammate, Alberg breaks Sporting Kansas City’s will with this one.

Their body language after the goal says it all. This could be your Goal of the Year right here – then again, Alberg has seven more regular season games to make magic like this happen.

The week’s superlatives haven’t even all come out yet – Save of the Week nominees come out today, and Andre Blake is sure to have at least one save listed. Like this one:

Either way, make sure to keep an eye out for that and to vote in both Goal of the Week and Save of the Week contests!
