Bethlehem Steel FC part ways with Samir Badr

The 24 year old leaves the club after less than a year.

Samir Badr and Bethlehem Steel FC have mutually agreed to part ways, according to a rather brief release from the club. Badr joined the Union affiliate by way of the Colorado Springs Switchbacks in January of this year. His past experience with the aforementioned Switchbacks and Oklahoma CIty Energy FC made him a strong bench option for Bethlehem as well as a veteran presence (in the way that a guy with two years in a league has more experience than zero) in the locker room.

This year for Steel FC, Badr had 720 minutes over 8 starts, giving up 10 goals and having two shut outs. Going forward, it looks like Matthew Perrella will be the number one goalkeeper. If he isn’t already, BSFC will most likely look to lock him up past this year.

Obviously we wish Samir the best of luck in his future endeavors and I’d like to personally thank him for being one of the first guys to sign up for this crazy little experiment that has been Steel FC’s year one.
