U16 midfielder with U.S. U16 team in California

Marco Bla one of 36 players called into U.S. U16 training camp this week near Sacramento

Philadelphia Union Academy midfielder Marco Bla is one of thirty six players that were called into camp with the United States Under 16 Boys’ National Team team in northern California this week.

Fifteen year old Bla is in his second season with the Academy, joining the Union’s Under 16s this year after spending last season with the Under 14 team. He lives in Darby, Pennsylvania but is of Côte d'Ivoire descent.

United States Under 16 Boys’ National Teamhead coach Shaun Tsakiris’ roster includes six players from FC Dallas and three each from LA Galaxy, New York City FC and the Houston Dynamo.

The schedule for the camp, which runs through Friday, includes matches against Under 18 teams from Clovis Crossfire, Sacramento United as well as matches against U.S. Soccer Development Academy clubs Juventus Sport Club and Sacramento Republic.
