Christian Pulisic returns home an even bigger star, Zach Pfeffer has no regrets and more
Matthew DeGeorge caught up with former Philadelphia Union homegrown Zach Pfeffer (Dresher, Pa.) to talk about his life after walking away from professional soccer. Zach is a student at Temple University pursuing a career in finance and while his pro career didn’t quite meet expectations, he clearly has a bright future.
Budding international star Christian Pulisic has been spending his summer break from Borussia Dortmund back in the region, visiting his former club PA Classics, interacting with kids at the Hershey Summer Classic and more.
Trenton native Matthew Olosunde talked to the Manchester United website about his first year with the club. "I'm very happy with how the season has gone…Just travelling with the first team was a big thing for me. It's a lot different when you are actually with them. You just think 'wow'!
Temple announced its 2017 schedule, which includes a number of intriguing match-ups at Temple Sports Complex, including Rider (Sept. 3), UConn (Sept. 23), Penn State (Sept. 27), SMU (Oct. 7), Cincinnati (Oct. 14) and South Florida (Nov. 4).
Brian White (Flemington, N.J.) was named to the PDL Team of the Week after scoring five goals in two games for New York Red Bulls U23.

Six teams from Eastern Pennsylvania claimed Region I Presidents Cup championships in West Virginia last week. North Union Adrenaline (U12), HMMS Ajax (U14) and VE Green Gunners (U15) capture cup titles for the boys and Continental FC Barca (U12), Harleysville FC Ready (U14), Ukrainian Nationals Vorskla Black (U17/U18) capture cup titles for the girls.
The schedule for the group stage of the 2017 Philly Unity Cup has been released. Games kick off on September 8.
Villanova won the first match of their European trip, 2-1 over UC Bellvitge behind goals from Andreas Bartosinski and Max Kroschwitz.
Matthew Freese (Bryn Mawr, Pa.) and Max Zandi (West Chester, Pa.) were both named second team All-USA high school players. The Harvard-bound Freese is part of the Philadelphia Union Academy but also played at Episcopal Academy in the fall. Zandi, who starred at West Chester Henderson, will be joining his cousin Zach Zandi at Villanova this fall.
Reading United star Aaron Molloy is transferring from NAIA Keiser University to Penn State for the fall season.
