WPS and magicJack: Points off the table
Hope Solo was apparently surprised, judging by her Twitter output today. Others really weren’t. WPS laid down the hammer today on magicJack, deducting a point for continued noncompliance with league rules. And as Jenna Pel and Jeff Kassouf tell it, this is merely the latest step in a weeks-long escalation from warning to fine to loss of draft picks to loss of a point.

An Open Letter to SEPTA Planning " Unholy Union – The fan blog for Phi. Union
I am a season ticket holder for the Philadelphia Union. I also travel SEPTA on a regular basis, as I live in, and work in the city – being a non-licensed driver aside. I have been lucky enough to be able to find fans of the team who drive to join me in attending games at PPL Park to be able to attend on a regular basis. The reason why I am writing is this…

I opened up the Metro, which I read during the train ride portion of my daily commute.  The sports section is where I begin my reading, and I came across this article:

Union's unexplosive offense due to lack of chemistry | Philadelphia Inquirer | 05/13/2011

Sometimes a team can be blinded by fool's gold, a possibility the Union have to consider. Their record is 4-2-2, better than many anticipated for this second-year Major League Soccer franchise. But the Union must make much improvement if they expect to compete in the postseason.

The Philly Soccer Page " Stat chat: Union v Galaxy

Carlos Ruiz said in the lead up to Wednesday night’s draw with LA that he was tired of hearing questions about the sputtering Union offense. Wednesday night, he said, the offense would make a statement that it had improved.
