Player rating survey: Philadelphia Union at New York Red Bulls October 1st, 2016
The Union fell in Harrison New Jersey by a score of 3-2. Rate the players in their performance.
The Union defense could not hold Saturday night as they conceded three times against their rival the Red Bulls. The Union endured a 25 minute spell in the first half where they held just 23% of possession. They cracked at the end of the first half allowing Kljestan a wide open chance to knot the score at 1-1. In the second half the Red Bulls showed what a truly diverse striker brings to an attack as Bradley Wright-Philips split the central defense following a long ball and easily beat a helpless Andre Blake. But it was defensive midfielder Dax McCarty who put the dagger in with the decisive goal. The Union will have two weeks to think about revenge as they face the Red Bulls in 15 days with a playoff position hanging in the balance.
