The Philadelphia Union will carry a fourth goalkeeper for the 2021 season, announcing the signing of Greg Ranjitsingh to a one-year contract on Friday.

“With a congested international schedule that will present opportunities to have our keepers called up to their respective national teams, it was important to add Greg to our roster and create depth in our goalkeeper unit” Ernst Tanner, Philadelphia Union Sporting Director said in a news release. “He brings experience along with the type of work ethic our system requires, and we look forward to his contributions this season.”

Ranjitsingh made three starts for Minnesota United last season after appearing twice for Orlando City in 2019. Prior to that, the Trinidad and Tobago international from Ontario won back-to-back titles with Louisville City in 2017 and 2018.

The 27-year-old joins a goalkeeping corps that includes Jamaica international Andre Blake, U.S. international Matt Freese and veteran Joe Bendik.
