West Chester United and Ocean City Nor’easters will be taking center stage tonight as the first and only game on the opening night of the first round of the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup.

The match will be played at YSC Sports near King of Prussia. Kickoff is slated for 7:30 p.m. Tickets at gate/CASH: Adult $20; Youth $5 (18-11); Youth (10-under) FREE.

The live stream will be available for free on the B/R Football YouTube channel.

Both teams are back in the oldest competition in American soccer after losing in the first round in 2022. Ocean City fell on penalties at home against Lansdowne Yonkers FC and West Chester lost to FC Motown 1-0 on a late goal in a replay. West Chester won the first game but a replay was called because of an illegal substitution.

While West Chester operates a year-round program, Ocean City will field a roster specifically for the competition. The two teams are rivals in USL League Two but West Chester also has a summer team in the NPSL and a team that competes in the fall and spring in the USL of Pennsylvania.

The winner of the game will travel to Maryland to take on professional NISA team Maryland Bobcats FC.
