Full time

90+3′- Final whistle. This game will be decided by a penalty shootout.

90+1′- There will be at least 3 minutes of stoppage time.

90′- The Philadelphia Union have another corner here, this one is from the far flag. Service is sent towards the penalty spot, and the ball deflects towards the 6 yard line. Donovan is there and he takes a shot that goes over the net.

88′ Yellow to Elliott.

86′- A good chance for the Union as Mbaizo cross goes to the far post, but no one is able to get on the end of it.

79′- DC with another corner kick, this time from the far flag. It has ended as many of the set pieces have, with a foul committed by someone. The U are now making a change bringing on McGlynn for Lowe.

73′- Yellow to Mbaizo. The Union make a sub here bringing Donovan on for Uhre.

67′- Gazdag is shown a yellow card by the ref. For his frustrations after he was taken down. The Union are given a free kick from about 35 yards out.

64′- Goal for the Union, but the ref waives it off. Carranza had a great touch, but as it goes through the ref says he stops the defender from being able to try and save the ball. So we are still leveled at 0-0.

60′- Corner kick for DC, their 5th of the night, and it is sent wide and past the net for a goal kick.

48′- Union with a free kick from about 40 yards. It is sent deep near the 6 yard line, but a flag goes up for offsides.

46′- Second half is now underway.

HALF

45+1′ – There is just 1 minute of stoppage time, and before Blake kicks the ball back into play the ref whistles for halftime.

45′- Huge save here by Blake, as he makes himself big and is able to stop the ball from going into the net. DC has a corner here, the ball is swung in and out of play for a goal kick.

39′- Union with a corner here from the far flag. Bueno stands over the ball to deliver the corner. His ball is swung near the 6 yard line, but there is apparently a foul committed by the Union and its a goal kick for DC.

28′- Gazdag with a great chance, but can’t get a quality finish and DC United’s Bono makes a great save to keep this game level at 0.

27′- Carranza sees the goalie is out of the net and he tries to chip it in from the Union side of the center circle, but it goes wide of the net.

21′- Carranza gets pulled down but that a few seconds later trips up a DC player and is called for a foul. Hmm two MLS teams and only 20 minutes into this and we have reached peak CONCACAFY officiating.

16′- Union corner here from the near flag. Wagner stands over it, the cross falls into the penalty area but no one was on the end of it. The ball eventually goes out for a throw-in.

11′- DC United takes a long shot and Blake gets a piece of it. DC gets a corner off the play and it eventually ends with a goal kick for the Union.

5′- Free kick from the right side of the box for the Union here. Its a few yards from the flag. Right as the ball is played, Carranza is whistled for a foul.

4′- Uhre gets the ball over the top, and gets into a 1v1 situation with the goalkeeper. His shot is saved, but it wouldn’t have counted as the flag comes up for offsides.

1′- We have a knockout game in Chester. The U are in the dark blues and are protecting the River End here in the first half.
