McGlynn and Harriel called up to USMNT for January camp

Jack McGlynn and Nathan Harriel are heading to Orlando for their first senior national team camp.

McGlynn and Harriel along with a third player (Brian White) with past experience playing in the Philadelphia Union youth system received their first call-ups among the 25 players called in by head coach Gregg Berhalter.

White played for Jim Curtin on the Philadelphia Union U17 team that won the 2012 Generation adidas Cup. The academy was in its early form then and brought in players from area clubs to train and compete in competitions. White grew up in Flemington, N.J. and played for PDA.

The all-MLS roster was announced at a news conference in San Antonio on Friday. The camp will run Jan. 8-16 in Orlando. The U.S. plays Slovenia on January 20 at Toyota Field in San Antonio.

“This is an opportunity to identify and work with the next generation of players who have the potential to make an impact on our program,” Berhalter said. “We appreciate the support from MLS and all their clubs so that we can utilize this platform. Our priority is on getting as many players as possible experience in important competitions, and this camp and the match against Slovenia will be extremely valuable in the evaluation process.”
