The NWSL club announced the signing of former Penn Fusion and Episcopal Academy keeper Morgan Messner to a one-year contract on Thursday.

Messner was a three-year starter at Boston University and after completing her undergrad degree transferred to Penn State  for her final two years of college soccer while earning a master’s degree. She played for Racing Louisville’s USL W side in 2022 before joining Chicago Red Stars’ preseason roster in 2023.

San Diego Wave FC also has South Jersey native Amirah Ali on the team. Ali starred at Eastern High School and PDA prior to a standout college career at Rutgers.
