Lower League Round-Up: Week of April 15

In this week’s roundup of local lower league soccer, playoff seeding is up for grabs in EPSL and a few contenders look to challenge mighty West Chester for their throne in USLPA. With the weather continuing to warm up, this weekend offers plenty of chances to catch a game; read along to find out when and where…

Eastern Premier Soccer League (EPSL)

Alloy continued their undefeated season with a 5-0 drubbing of Oaklyn United and improved to 9-2-0 (W-D-L) on the season. They clinched a playoff berth for the EPSL Delaware River Conference playoffs and will now be looking to bring some silverware home to Lancaster by finishing top of the table, with just a few games to go.   • Sunday 4/21 – Vidas Elite 2-3 Philadelphia Heritage SC
  • Sunday 4/21 – Philadelphia SC 4-0 Salone FC

  • Salone FC vs Real Central NJ at 5pm at South Philly SuperSite
  • Philadelphia Heritage SC vs Kensington SC at 6pm at Germantown SuperSite

The top 4 teams will qualify for the Delaware River Conference playoffs:

 

United Soccer League of Pennsylvania (USLPA)

United German Hungarians, Vereinigung Erzgebirge and Colonial SC are all looking to dethrone West Chester United by the end of this spring to become champions of USLPA. Their only problem is that the defending champions are 8-0-0 with 54 goals for and 7 goals allowed. The challengers will need to put in some serious work over their next couple of games or else Drake’s “Back to Back” will be playing in West Chester in a few weeks.

  • Sunday 4/21 – Lighthouse SC 1-4 West Chester United
  • Sunday 4/21 – Phoenix SC 4-0 Lancaster City FC
  • Sunday 4/21 – Colonial SC 0-1 United German Hungarians
  • Wednesday 4/24 – Ukrainian Nationals 7-1 Lighthouse SC

UPSL Northeast American (South)

Lancaster FC is on top of the table after three wins to start the season while Philadelphia Lone Star has one win in their first matches. Lone Star hosts Cabra SC Sunday afternoon at 3 p.m. at the John Bartram Football Field while Lancaster FC visits Ironbound on Saturday at 5 p.m.

USASA Region 1 Cups

Vereinigung Erzgebirge travels to Maryland to take on Steel Pulse FC in the Region 1 Amateur Cup quarterfinal at 3 p.m. on Sunday.
