Lower League Round-Up: Week of April 8

Welcome back to another week of lower league soccer coverage from the greater Philadelphia area. Let’s take a look at the results from last week as well as look at the schedule for the week ahead:

Region 1 Werner Fricker Cup

West Chester United exacted some revenge on Maryland’s Steel Pulse after being dropped 1-0 in Region 1 Amateur Cup play with a 5-2 win in the Region 1 Werner Fricker Cup quarterfinal on Sunday. Ken Roby had two goals and two assists to lead the Predators while Josh Pulla also recorded a brace and added an assist.

United Soccer League of Pennsylvania (USLPA) Men’s Majors

UPSL Northeast American

Lancaster FC is off to a 2-0 start to open the spring season. They opened with a 2-1 win at Philadelphia Lone Star and beat Javier Velasco Academy 8-0. Seth Crabbe and Andrea DiSomma both had braces in the match. Lone Star bounced back from the 2-1 loss to Lancaster with a 2-1 win over Union SC at home. Lancaster FC II and Philadelphia Lone Star II are both 1-1-0 (WLD) to start Division 1 spring play. Pennsylvania Prime is 0-1-1 and newcomer Scranton FC has two losses to open the season.
