Led by Alex McGee of Capital Sports Group, the Capital City Islanders – their logo is an obvious nod to the former USL team with the inclusion of two palm trees – plan to enter the UPSL  this April.

“We are excited to bring a new level of soccer excitement to the community and offer opportunities for players to develop and showcase their talents,” said Alex McGee. “Our goal is to create an inclusive and engaging environment for both players and fans.”

The Capital City Islanders plan to play at Skyline Sports Complex on City Island. They will compete in UPSL’s Division 1, which is the level below Premier. Lancaster FC and Pennsylvania Prime FC fielded teams in the 10-team division in the fall.

More information is forthcoming on the team’s website at islanderssoccer.com.
