Matthew Reed hasn’t been known for his goal-scoring prowess during his time in Omaha, Nebraska but his senior season has taken on Duncan McGuire levels of offense for the Creighton Blue Jays.

Reed, a Felton, Del. native and former FC Delco standout, converted a penalty kick in a 3-1 win over Yale on Sunday night to tie a program record for most consecutive games with a goal. The goal was Reed’s 7th of the season – tied for third in the nation – and came on Senior Night at Morrison Stadium in Omaha.

McGuire, a former Creighton star who won the Hermann Trophy in 2022 and currently plays for Houston Dynamo, scored in five straight games for the Blue Jays in 2022. Mike Tranchilla scored in six straight games in 2001.

Reed, who graduated from Caesar Rodney High School, entered his senior season with just three career goals in 41 appearances, all from the 2025 season.
