CB East outlasts rivals Pennridge in eight-goal thriller
Central Bucks East has been the team to beat in Pennsylvania high school girls soccer ever since the whistle blew on their 7-0 blowout win in the PIAA Class 4A state championship in November. But repeating, even with the loaded roster of talent CB East, is never easy.
One of the teams with a chance to dethrone the reigning champs – 2025 District 1 champions Pennridge – visited Doylestown on Wednesday night in a game that did not disappoint.
East jumped ahead early with goals from Taylor Roumy and Mattie Williams but Kylie Manville was able to cut the lead in half before Keira Sleicher restored the two-goal lead for the Patriots just before halftime.
A pair of Rams goals from Peyton Rabinowitz and Georgia Moyer in the first 10 minutes of the second half leveled the score at 3-3 but Mackenzie Peters and Quinn Reilly put the game away with goals in the final half hour to secure the 5-3 win for the hosts.
CB East improved to 7-0-1 on the season (their one blemish was a scoreless draw with Henderson) while Pennridge dropped to 4-2. CB East hosts Conestoga on Saturday morning while Pennridge hosts 2025 state finalist CB South.
