Union Academy’s Neil Pierre selected for 2023 MLS NEXT All-Star Game
Pierre, an Philadelphia Union Academy standout, just completed a successful campaign with the club. In April, Pierre helped the U-17 team win the 2023 Generations adidas Cup in Bradenton, Florida, a feat accomplished for just the second time in club history.

Who missed the cut? 2023 MLS All-Star snubs
Festivities and flair aside, there’s another treat that lies in each All-Star announcement: the banter. I.e. who got snubbed? With 29 MLS teams and only one 26-man roster, there are plenty of worthy players to choose from.

RSL sign Colombian midfielder Nelson Palacio
The 22 year old defensive midfielder joins RSL from Colombian side Atlético Nacional, where he made over 70 appearances since 2020. He signed to one of RSL’s U22 Initiative slots. Players signed to one of these slots (who are aged 21-25) have a maximum salary budget charge of $200,000.

Toulouse to sign Cristian Cásseres Jr. from Red Bulls
Cásseres, 23, originally came to the Red Bulls in 2018 and made 126 first-team appearances. The box-to-box midfielder has been a key starter the last three seasons. He was acquired from Venezuelan side Deportivo La Guaira. He has 20 caps with Venezuela.

Atlanta United reportedly closing in on signing of Tristan Muyumba
Muyumba has experience in the first, second and fourth divisions of football in France, previously seeing stints with SC Toulon, AS Monaco’s first team as well as Monaco B.

The two clubs have reached a compromise after Chelsea originally demanded £70m for the England international. United have seen bids of £40m, £50m and £55m rejected by Chelsea.
