Local high schools represented in first USA TODAY/NSCAA fall rankings
Seven schools in our area received votes in the first ranking of the 2016-17 year.
High schools in this area are barely back in session, however some are already ranked in the first USA TODAY/NSCAA Super 25 Fall High School Rankings of 2016. Two boys’ teams and four girls teams in the Eastern Pennsylvania-South Jersey-Delaware area are ranked. While it’s early in the season and school year, it’s good for these schools to get this recognition.
On the boys’ side, Cleveland, Ohio’s St. Ignatius (4-0-0) is the top ranked school overall. The top ranked local school is Wilmington, Delaware’s Salesianum School (0-0-0) is ranked sixth. The next highest ranked school in this area is Lewisburg, Pennsylvania’s Lewisburg (2-0-0) coming in at 17th. Also receiving votes was West Chester, Pennsylvania’s Henderson High School.
On the girls’ side, Allendale, New Jersey’s Northern Highlands (0-0-0) is ranked number one overall. The highest ranked local school is Fairless Hills, Pennsylvania’s Pennsbury (1-0-0) at tenth. Eleventh is Colts Neck High School (0-0-0) in Colts Neck, New Jersey. Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania’s Cumberland Valley (0-0-0) is 16th, and Immaculate Heart Academy (0-0-0) of Washington Township, New Jersey rounds out the local list at 21st.
