Ryan Richter sold to New York Cosmos
Well, this sucks.
Bethlehem Steel FC have come to terms with the New York Cosmos that sees Ryan Richter join the NASL side. The terms of the deal per USL and NASL standards have not been disclosed.
Richter was an absolute pillar for this team, and a guy I had pegged to be in the fold for the Philadelphia Union next year. His five goals, four assists and 29 starts were good for the best on the team in all categories, and honestly New York is incredibly lucky to have this kind of talent for a playoff push.
What does this mean for Steel? I dunno man, just let me grieve about it. They'll have to pick up a few veteran players in the offseason and now have a massive black hole at right back that Mark McKenzie might be in line to fill.
I would love to personally thank captain for being a great player, a fantastic interview and the best first year captain we could've asked for.
