MLS doesn’t know when the playoffs start

Well this is… something.

In possibly the most MLS thing that Major League Soccer has ever done, none of the teams seem to know when the first round of the playoffs start – specifically when the games are.

Philadelphia Union manager Jim Curtin revealed in his press conference that while the Union know that they’re matching up against Toronto FC and that the game will take place in Toronto, that they don’t know when that will be. We thought that might have been due to Toronto FC sharing BMO Field with the Toronto Argonauts, however the Argos’ next game isn’t until November 5 in Edmonton. And there’s also this exchange between Real Salt Lake and the league around their matchup against the LA Galaxy.

It’s not as if the league didn’t have months to plan for potential scenarios and that all of the teams except for the Seattle Sounders and Toronto play in a stadium that they’re the primary tenant. It’s rather embarrassing that the teams don’t have this information ready for them.

Get your shit together, MLS.
