The Philadelphia Union forward was named Man of the Match for his efforts.

Philadelphia Union (and sometimes Bethlehem Steel FC) winger Eric Ayuk and the Cameroon U20s needed a win against Sudan to keep their hopes of making the knockout stage of the tournament. Ayuk led Les Lionceaux to a 4-1 win over Sudan, keeping Cameroon still in the hunt for the Under 20 Africa Cup of Nations.

Ayuk scored a goal in the 51st minute, and was awarded Man of the Match honors.

The last match of the group stage for Group B will be on Sunday. Cameroon will face off against the current number one seed Senegal while Sudan will face South Africa. The top two teams in the group advance, so the only way Cameroon can ensure advancing to the next round is to beat Senegal – otherwise it’s completely up in the air as to who advances into the knockout round.

The top four teams of the tournament qualify for the 2017 U20 World Cup, which will take place in South Korea in late May and early June.
