Sons of Ben unveil tattoo inspired tifo

The Sons of Ben have done it again.

Today’s tifo for the Philadelphia Union’s match against rivals D.C. United is a traditional style tattoo design of the Union’s snake ensnaring and striking the D.C. United eagle. The Union’s “Join or Die” motto is at the top in a traditional tattoo font, and “ZOLO” is done in another traditional script style font in the lower right.

Sons of Ben Tifo Director Ryan Bross and local tattoo artist Kris Kolodziej of The Inkwell tattoo parlor in Southampton, Pa. collaborated on the idea. Kolodziej is a long-time Union supporter and his portfolio includes several Philadelphia sports-themed pieces. “We were talking last year about it, and I asked him for an idea at the start of this season and we picked D.C.,” Bross said, “His design came out super close to an idea that I had last year for the D.C. game.”
