Salesianum, Lower Dauphin in United Soccer Coaches Top 25 week 1 poll

Nine other boys teams from the region made regional polls

Salesianum School doesn’t start their season until Saturday, but stayed put at No. 5 in the United Soccer Coaches High School Boys Soccer poll for week 1.

Lower Dauphin, the only other team from the region in the national rankings, moved down in the poll from sixth to 13th after a scoreless draw to open their season against State College on Saturday.

Salesianum opens its season on Saturday at home against Walter Johnson High School (Maryland) at 3 p.m.

Conestoga, which opens their season today against West Chester Henderson, received votes for the top 25 along with La Salle College, which opened its season with a 6-0 win over Central High School on Saturday.

Lower Dauphin was ranked second in the Region III rankings, followed by Conestoga at No. 4, La Salle at No. 6, 2-0-0 Central Bucks West at No. 8, Delran at No. 11, Washington Township at No. 12, Pennsbury at No. 13 and Cumberland Valley No. 15.

Salesianum topped the Region IV poll and is joined by fellow Delaware schools Appoquininmink at No. 6 and Charter School of Wilmington at No. 11.

On the girls side, Neshaminy is the only team from the region in the Top 25. Spring-Ford (No. 3), Manheim Township (No. 5), Conestoga (No. 7), Cumberland Valley (No. 9), Lower Dauphin (No. 13) and Unionville (No. 15) all made the Region III rankings.
