CJ Sapong now has the club’s single-season goal scoring record all to himself, thanks to a goal in the 27th minute of the match against Orlando City SC. Sapong had been tied with former Union striker Sebastien Le Toux with 14 goals, which Le Toux scored in the inaugural 2010 season.

The play was really made by Fafa Picault, who took a pass down the line from Fabinho and did well to let it lead him. Picault was able to outrace Seb Hines and send the pass across the box over to a wide open Sapong. Earl Edwards, Jr. had fully committed to Picault and paid the price when Sapong was able to get on the end of it to give the Union a commanding 3-0 lead and Sapong his 15th goal of the season with plenty of time left to play in the match.

Congratulations to CJ for making Philadelphia Union history!
