Marco Fabián makes Philadelphia Union debut

The biggest signing in the Philadelphia Union’s history is now the biggest player in the club’s history, as Mexico National Team midfielder Marco Fabián made his debut today in the Suncoast Invitational against the Montreal Impact.

Fabián started the game for the Union wearing the number 10 shirt. Fabián came up through the youth system of Mexican giants Chivas de Guadalajara, spending seven years with the first team. He was loaned out to fellow Liga MX club Cruz Azul for a year, and was eventually sold to Eintracht Frankfurt of the German Bundesliga in 2016. He played in Germany since, joining the Union just a couple short weeks ago.

Fabián is also a mainstay of the Mexican National Team, representing El Tricolor 40 times and scoring nine goals. He made just one appearance in the 2018 World Cup, getting subbed on in the 65th minute in Mexico’s 3-0 loss to Sweden in the group stage.
