Don’t Forget: SB Nation’s Mock SuperDraft Tonight At 9:00
For those of you who dig a bunch of bloggers getting their mock draft on, we’ve got you’ve covered tonight. At 9:00, the first ever SB Nation mock SuperDraft will take place where a blogger from each respective team’s SB Nation site will gather around their laptops and have a live mock draft. For those teams who are without an SB Nation site, other SBN writers and bloggers outside of SB Nation will fill in. Jeremiah Oshan from our Seattle Sounders blog, Sounder At Heart and SB Nation’s front page Soccer section will be leading the mock draft.
The Brotherly Game's very own Scott Kessler will be in charge of making the picks for the Philadelphia Union. Whatever his criteria will be, Corey Hertzog better fit that criteria so that if he falls to the #5 slot, Scott can mock draft him. With Omar Salgodo, Darlington Nagbe, and Perry Kitchen likely being among the first four players chosen, there is a very good chance that Corey Hertzog, the forward out of Penn State, will be available with the 5th pick of the draft. The Union need a forward, Hertzog is not just a forward, but a local forward, Hertzog wants to play with the Union, and the fit is perfect.
If the unexpected happens and Hertzog is taken, then I would select Will Bruin, the forward out of Indiana. If both are taken, I think I'd go defense if Kofi Sarkodie is available, and if he is not available, Zarek Valentin.
But ultimately, the decision is not mine, the decision is Scott's. And if I know Scott like I think I do, if Corey Hertzog is available like he is projected to be at #5, Scott'll take him.
