Source: Phillip Borde Is Not On Trial With The Philadelphia Union

University of Howard forward Phillip Borde is not on trial with the Philadelphia Union, a source close to Borde's situation has told the Brotherly Game. The current Trinidad and Tobago under-23 Olympic qualifying player was lightly linked to the Union through T&T news outlet Guardian Media.

"Phillip is not currently on trial with the Union," the source said. "Any reports saying that he is on trial with the team, or has signed for the team in any way, are incorrect."

The Brotherly Game reached out to the 20-year-old Borde for comment on the matter, but Borde declined to comment during his current two week long Olympic qualifying tournament with T&T.

Borde will play for Trinidad and Tobago against at least Grenada, on July 19th, in the team's first round of 2012 Olympic qualifying. The team will then play against Curaçao, on July 21st, and Dominica, on July 23rd, to finish off their round robin grouping.
