Keon Daniel Unspectacular In Trinidad And Tobago’s 2-1 Loss To Bermuda

Trinidad and Tobago's hopes of progressing to the next stage of CONCACAF World Cup Qualifying took a hit Friday night, as the national team dropped a 2-1 decision to Bermuda.

Philadelphia Union midfielder Keon Daniel played his third 2014 World Cup Qualifying game for Tobago, his first after scoring the eventual game winner against Barbados in early September. Daniel impressed both the coaching staff and fans in Trinidad in his two September call ups, but couldn't replicate that form versus Bermuda the second time around versus the island nation.

The 65 minute start possibly showed that the 25-year-old wasn't fully healthy after possibly contracting Dengue Fever in late September. Starting out of the middle of the midfield for the first time in 2011, Daniel showed he either wasn't match fit or out of form due to not playing a competive game since September 7.

A "soft exchange between Daniel and Telesford allowed Andre Manders to pick up possession and he found Russell who clinically got the ball past Phillips" for Bermuda's first goal.

Daniel was later substituted out of the game for Kevaughn Connell in the 65th minute. Fans on T&T forums were disappointed with Daniel's appearance, with multiple posts asking for head coach Otto Fister to not start him in the next national team game.
