Union Academy midfielder verbally commits to Clemson

The Philadelphia Union Academy to Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) pipeline picked up another player on Thursday with U-18 midfielder Michael Swift's verbal commitment to play college soccer at Clemson.

A Memphis, Tennesse native, Swift joined the Union Academy this season after playing for Sunrise SC in Florida, where he played alongside current Union Academy members Frederick Gil and Jack Skahan.

Swift, 17, made 15 appearances for the U-18 team this season, started 7 games and scored a pair of goals in U.S. Development Academy play.

He'll join several teammates and past Union Academy players in the ACC when he gets to the South Carolina campus in 2016. Sean Wilson and Will Campbell are heading to North Carolina this fall, Oliver Calvo to Louisville and Morgan Hackworth to Syracuse.
