Philadelphia Union Academy season resumes on Saturday

The U18, U16 and U14 teams will host Baltimore Armour at YSC Sports on Saturday.

The Philadelphia Union Academy U18, U16 and U14 teams will kick off the second half of the season with games against Baltimore Armour on Saturday.

The U18s (8-3-4) kick off at 11 a.m. in their first game in U.S. Development Academy play since early December. The U18s topped Baltimore Armour (3-13-0) 6-0 in the first meeting in September. Yosef Samuel had a hat trick, Tiger Graham a brace and Joseph DeZart added a goal in the match.

Head coach Chris Brewer’s team enters the game in fourth place in the Atlantic Division, but only three points behind first place New York Red Bulls Academy.

The U16s (9-3-3) kick off their match at 1 p.m.

The Union won 5-1 in the first meeting in September led by a brace from Darius Lewis and goals from Brendan Aaronson, Anthony Fontana and Justin McMaster. It will be the first match for the U16 team since the second leg of Generation adidas Cup qualifying in Florida in mid-February. The travels to Frisco, Texas to compete in the consolation Premiership Division of the GA Cup March 18-26.

Head coach Jeff Cook's team enters the match even on points with New York Red Bulls for first place in the Atlantic Division. Baltimore Armour (5-7-5) is seventh in the standings, 11 points behind the Union.

The U14s play at 3 p.m. in the first meeting of the season between the two teams.

The U15 team resumes its season in the Northeast Pre-Academy League with a match against Baltimore Armour on March 19 and the U13 team is scheduled to play against Continental FC DELCO on March 18.
