Watch: Keegan Rosenberry volley

Former Union defender from Lancaster scored a beauty for the Colorado Rapids on Sunday night

Keegan Rosenberry isn’t technically a former Philadelphia Union homegrown player since he entered the league via the MLS SuperDraft, but the Lancaster native scored a goal last night reminiscent of a couple of strikes from Union homegrowns Mark McKenzie and Anthony Fontana this season.

Rosenberry drilled a volley from outside the box in for a goal off a cleared corner kick in the 42nd minute for Colorado in their 3-1 win over the Seattle Sounders that officially eliminated the Sounders from Supporters’ Shield contention.

Unsurprisingly, the Penn Fusion Academy alum’s strike was nominated for MLS Goal of the Week.
