Timbers trade Jorge Villafana to LA Galaxy for first-round pick
Villafana appeared in 127 matches (121 starts) across all competitions for the Timbers, playing for the club from 2014 to 2015 and again from 2018 to 2020. He was a part of the team that won the 2015 MLS Cup and the 2020 MLS is Back Tournament.

He helped build the Sounders into a winner while working under general manager Garth Lagerwey, with the team claiming seven significant trophies, including two MLS Cups, since Henderson’s front office appointment in 2008.

FIFA approves Andrés Perea’s switch to represent the USMNT
Perea previously expressed his interest in joining the USMNT and he was invited to camp in December, although he was still unable to play in the friendly against El Salvador. But he was given the good news from Gregg Berhalter himself before joining the January training camp with the U-23s.
