Scottish center back Stuart Findlay is set to become the first 2021 signing for the Philadelphia Union, according to a report in the Philadelphia Inquirer.

The 25-year-old, who has one cap with the Scotland national team, is a left-footed center back who will join a center back rotation that includes Scottish center back Jack Elliott and Norwegian international Jakob Glesnes.

The Union are reportedly paying six figures to Findlay’s club Kilmarnock for the transfer. His contract is expiring in June. He was also being pursued by Scottish club Hearts, according to reports.

He turned pro with Celtic FC in 2015 and after several loan stints spent time with Newcastle United in England before signing with Kilmarnock in 2018.

Findlay was first reported as a target of the Union by the Scottish Sun. Jonathan Tannenwald cites multiple sources confirming that the Union will be signing him in his report for the Inquirer.
