2021 will bring the return of the Army-Navy Cup to the Philadelphia Union’s Subaru Park. The teams will meet two times this year. With the 10th anniversary match of the rivalry taking place in the fall.

The Army-Navy Cup IX was suppose to take place last fall. However the Patriot League moved the season to the spring due to the current pandemic. So the match between the two academies will take place on Sunday March, 20. Then Army-Navy Cup X will take place during the scheduled Fall 2021 season.

Right now, there is no word on if fans will be allowed at the game. The Union and Subaru Park are following local health and safety protocols. The club has said they will announce capacity and ticket sales at a later date.

Philadelphia Union’s President Tim McDermott spoke about how proud the organization is to continue to host the match. “The Cup has become a celebrated tradition and one that we have proudly hosted since its inception. We are inspired by the bravery and sacrifice of these student-athletes and it is a privilege to provide a home to this rivalry. As we approach the ten-year anniversary, we are able to see just how far this event has come and look forward to many more years of this partnership.”

Subaru Park has played host to the Army-Navy Cop since its first match in 2012. Army currently leads the series at 3-2-1. The last time the two academies met, in 2019, saw the soccer match end with a 1-1 draw.
