Andre Blake earned himself the top spot on our fan voting for the Philadelphia Union’s match against the Columbus Crew this week after Blake made six saves and gave the Union a shutout against the defending MLS Cup Champions. Blake easily earned top marks, with an average score of 4.69 points.

The Jamaican is no stranger to the top spot, Blake was our Rate the U Player of the Week 10 times in 2020.

Jose Martinez finished behind Blake, though the race was not close. Martinez finished with an average of 3.84 after a solid performance, though nothing out of the ordinary for the number six.

Jack Elliott also finished with 3.84 points alongside Martinez after a strong defensive showing along with the Union’s best chance on net of the evening.

The Union’s attack finished at the bottom of the voting, with Anthony Fontana finishing at the bottom of the pile, and Kacper Przybylko finishing second to last, a reflection of a night of defensive success with offensive struggles.
